ヨーヨー・マ10月来日記念盤！最新スタジオ録音はシルクロード[US輸入盤]

チェリスト＝ヨーヨー・マが1998年に設立したシルクロード・プロジェクトの最新アルバム。世界各地で演奏活動し、その土地の歴史に触れる中で次第にヨーロッパとアジアの人々と伝統を結びつけた交易路シルクロードに興味をもったヨーヨー・マが、いまライフワークとして取り組むプロジェクトである。世界各国の若き音楽たちが集い、言語の壁をこえて音楽という共通キーワードで奏でる音のタペストリーは、どこか懐かしい響きをもって私たちの心に訴えかける。10月の東京公演では、新譜からも1曲演奏が予定されている。本アルバムでは来日公演でも演奏が予定されているトルコの作曲家サイグンのパルティータより<アレグレット>をはじめ、プロジェクトのメンバーの書き下ろしにプラスして、伝統的なユダヤ音楽をもとに現代の音楽シーンに作品を発表し多彩な活躍を繰り広げる鬼才ジョン・ゾーンの作品を収録しているのにも注目したい。
