1972年、ピンク・フロイドはパリの北にあるエルーヴィル(Herouville)へ向かい、町のシャトー(城)に設置されたストロベリー・スタジオでレコーディングを行なった。2週間という特筆すべき期間の間に、彼らは最も一体感の強い作品のひとつである『雲の影』を録音した。バーベット・シュローダー監督の映画『ラ・ヴァレ(La Vallee)』のサウンドトラックである。本巻のCDに収録されている『雲の影』は新たに2016年にREMIXされたもの。1972年には『ピンク・フロイド・ライヴ・アット・ポンペイ』がリリースされた。エイドリアン・メイベン監督による、ポンペイの歴史的なローマ帝国時代の野外音楽堂で行われた、無観客でのライヴ映画である。 本巻の映像マテリアルには映画『ライヴ・アット・ポンペイ』の演奏を新たに5.1オーディオ・ミックスに編集したものや、同時代にフランスのテレビ局で収録された映像、1972年6月にブライトン・ドームで行われた演奏、ローラン・プティのバレエ団との共演映像などが含まれる。
